Kayla Grant is a New York-based editor and freelance writer. The New York native has a deep passion for telling the stories of the underrepresented and amplifying the voice of the voiceless. In all of her various roles, she focuses on writing stories in the entertainment, culture and lifestyle space that impact minorities, specifically Black people. Her byline appears on ESSENCE GU, Black Love, Business Insider, Shondaland, theGrio and more.

Kayla graduated with Summa Cum Laude from both (the illustrious) Clark Atlanta University and Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism. While her official journalism career launched in Atlanta on the campus of her beloved HBCU, she always had a love for pop culture and the industry. From watching celebrity interviews to binge watching Emmy-award winning television shows, everything in her adolescence prepared her for where she is now.

Outside of journalism, Kayla loves to travel, spend time with family and read (or listen to) books. You can learn more about Kayla by visiting her Instagram and Twitter.
